Addit! Pro For Flight Simulator 2000
Revision History
Improvements and Changes in Version 4.5.1
Addon Import Process & Window
 | If the import process encounters a problem with an addon, it will continue on and
process the remaining addons instead of halting prematurely. |
 | When importing just one addon (e.g. group #13) from a bunch of addons, the status
bar message reported "importing 13 of 1". This has been fixed. |
 | Fixed a bug that caused an 'Object variable or With block variable not set' error
message. Very nasty. |
 | Added a folder date column. Very handy for quickly finding the most recently
installed addon regardless of whether or not Addit! Pro installed it. |
 | Added the ability to customize columns. |
 | Toggling Show Icons would reload the addons and rebuild the display. Now it
simply rebuilds the display which is quicker. |
Addon Installation Wizard
 | For panels and sounds, Addit! Pro can now automatically create an alias when you
install an aircraft but opt to store the panel and sound in custom folders. For example,
say you're installing a new Corsair. It comes with its own panel and sound package. You
want to store the panel in its own custom panel folder and store the sound files in their
own custom sound folder. You've always been able to do this but after installation you had
to manually associate the Corsair with the split panel and split sound. Now Addit! Pro can
do this for you. In the Configure Panel and Configure Sounds window, simply check the box
titled "Assign panel/sound to the aircraft currently being installed". |
Addon Installation Wizard - Select Files
 | When you open an html file for viewing, Addit! Pro will now extract other html
and image files needed by that document. So, the document should appear with links intact
and you'll see images instead of image placeholders. |
 | The Select Files window title now displays the name of the selected folder. |
 | Updated handling of executable files with links to the Help file for tips on
installing them. |
Addon Installation Wizard - Resolve Conflicts
 | The column "Zip folder entry" now appears by default. |
Addon Management
 | Added validation for panel bitmap files. Addit! Pro will look for the presence of
all valid panel BMP files specified in the panel configuration file (panel.cfg) and report
if any are not found. |
 | Internet shortcuts (URL files) are no longer treated as textures. |
Addon Removal Process
 | Recreating an addon by copying or moving it to a zip file now saves folder names
in the zip file. |
 | Recreating an addon by copying or moving it to a folder now generates subfolders
as needed (e.g. in the case of duplicate filenames). Otherwise, files will be placed in
the same folder as before. |
Edit Aircraft
 | When changing a panel picture, the default search folder was Addit! Pro's Images
folder. Now, if the panel is part of an addon managed by Addit! Pro, the default folder is
the addon's custom folder. This makes it much easier to use a picture included with the
addon. |
 | Added a right-click menu item "Work With Addon(s)". This function
allows you to open a Work With Addons window for the selected item. For example, if you
use this function on your default Sopwith aircraft, Addit! Pro will open a Work With
Addons window showing this addon (provided you imported it into the database). |
 | Added "tooltip" help text. |
 | Added a folder date column. To quickly find the addon you last installed simply
sort the Aircraft box by Folder Date in descending order. The first item shown is the last
one installed. Neat. |
 | Adjusted the way the configuration section (lower middle of the screen) resizes.
This was done to allow the Aircraft File, Panel Name and Sound Name fields to show more of
their contents. |
Edit Panels
 | When changing a panel picture, the default search folder was Addit! Pro's Images
folder. Now, if the panel is part of an addon managed by Addit! Pro, the default folder is
the addon's custom folder. This makes it much easier to use a picture included with the
addon. |
 | Added a right-click menu item "Work With Addon(s)". This function
allows you to open a Work With Addons window for the selected item. For example, if you
use this function on your default Sopwith panel, Addit! Pro will open a Work With Addons
window showing this addon (provided you imported it into the database). |
 | Added "tooltip" help text. |
 | Added a folder date column. To quickly find the addon you last installed simply
sort the Panel box by Folder Date. The first item shown is the last one installed. |
 | Added a filter box with these choices: "Show All Panels", "Show
Only Original Panels" and "Show Only Alias Panels". |
Edit Sounds
 | Added a right-click menu item "Work With Addon(s)". This function
allows you to open a Work With Addons window for the selected item. For example, if you
use this function on your default Sopwith sound, Addit! Pro will open a Work With Addons
window showing this addon (provided you imported it into the database). |
 | Added "tooltip" help text. |
 | Add folder date column. To quickly find the addon you last installed simply sort
the Sounds box by Folder Date. The first item shown is the last one installed. |
 | Added a filter box with these choices: "Show All Sounds", "Show
Only Original Sounds" and "Show Only Alias Sounds". |
 | Adjusted Listbox sizing. |
Fixes
 | Fixed a problem with reinstalling addons that contain read-only files. |
 | Fixed a problem where some validity checks for root level folders like
"C:\" were not issuing the correct answers. |
 | Fixed a problem in the Recent items tab in all Select/Browse windows. Switching
to and from some root level folders wasn't working properly. |
 | Fixed 'Object variable or With block variable not set.' bug that could appear
during the addon import process. This error occurred when importing an addon having two or
more files sharing the same name. |
 | Fixed a small problem with the scenery library management system. |
 | Fixed a bug where the program would refuse to close when an Addon Installation
(or Removal) Wizard window was open. |
 | Fixed an "Element not found" that popped up when the Addit! Pro
executable was launched while Addit! Pro was running. |
 | Addressed a problem with the splash screen sound effect. The startup sound would
sometimes be garbled or might cause an error to appear. |
 | During some addon removals an "unknown error code" message was shown in
the status bar even though there was no error. This has been fixed. |
General
 | Changed the default value for the "number of items to remember" from 5
to 10 for all Select/Browse File windows. |
 | Added a Favorite Items list to all Select/Browse File windows. You can use this
personal list to store folders and zip files for quick and easy access. Depending on how
you organize your addons, this feature may save you many navigation clicks over the long
haul. |
 | You can now access the Rename function in the Resolve Conflicts and Work With
Addons window by simply pressing F2. |
 | Added a keyboard shortcut to bring up all right-click context menus. Press
SHIFT-F10 or F4. |
 | When you install an aircraft the name of the addon defaults to the name of the
aircraft. For example, the title "Vought Corsair F4U Deluxe" in the Aircraft.cfg
file means you get "Vought corsair f4u deluxe " as the addon name. However, the
program was not capitalizing the addon name properly. Now it does. |
 | Added keyboard shortcuts for all right-click context menus. For example, in the
Edit Aircraft window, if you right-click to bring up the context menu then press the
"p" key it will activate the Change Panel function. |
 | Improved performance of all ListView controls. |
 | Converted separate date and time columns into a single date/time column. |
 | Increased the default window size of the progress report window. |
 | Updated Setup program, Help text and documentation. |
 | Help text will no longer stay on top by default. |
Work With Addons
 | Added the ability to copy an addon to a folder or zip file. To use this feature,
select an addon right click and pick "Copy to Folder" or "Copy to Zip
File". You can then copy the addon's files to a folder or zip file of your choice.
The addon will be left intact and will be retained in Addit! Pro's database. To copy and
delete an addon to a folder or zip file use "Move to Folder" or "Move to
Zip File". Moving an addon to a folder or zip file will also remove it from Addit!
Pro's database. |
 | Adjusted the way the Addon Type filters some addons. For example, now when you
choose to list panels you will only see panels that are not part of any aircraft. Showing
sounds now works the same way - you will only see sounds listed if they are not part of an
aircraft. Showing textures will only list texture addons that are not part of any scenery
or panel addon. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 4.2.3
Addon Installation Wizard
 | Added the ability to move a zip file to a specified folder after installing the
zip file. This is handy for archiving original zip files after processing them.
|
Addon Management
 | Added support for fonts that are sometimes included with panels (TTF files).
|
Addon Removal
 | When removing a panel used by other addons Addit! Pro warns you about the
dependency. Now, you get that warning plus the ability to immediately choose a replacement
panel. If you dont pick a replacement panel, Addit! Pro will attempt to restore any
existing original panel definition it can find for all dependent panels. This helps ensure
any aircraft relying on these panels will function correctly. |
 | Sound dependencies are now thoroughly checked. Also, when removing a sound used
by other addons Addit! Pro warns you about the dependency. Now, you get that warning plus
the ability to immediately choose a replacement sound. If you dont pick a
replacement sound, Addit! Pro will attempt to restore any existing original sound
definition it can find for all dependent panels. This helps ensure any aircraft relying on
these panels will function correctly. |
Edit Aircraft
 | There was a small problem refreshing the display after restoring an original
panel or sound definition (ie. a panel.cfg/sound.cfg backup). If the previous
configuration file had errors, the window would not always refresh properly. Now it does
so in all cases. |
 | When choosing new panels and sounds the Select windows now highlight the default
item properly when the display is sorted by name. |
Edit/Select Sound
 | The column you pick to sort the Select Sound window is now saved properly.
|
General
 | On all screens having a Change Folder button, ALT-F is now the keyboard shortcut
for this button. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 4.2.1
Addon Import Process
 | Changed the default folder for the Add Files to Group dialog from C:\
to Flight Simulators \Aircraft folder. |
Addon Management
 | Addit! Pro will now automatically integrate aircraft notes files into your
aircraft addons when you delete addons, move them to the file cabinet or recreate them.
Thus, aircraft notes files, even if they werent included originally, will be cleaned
up by the removal process. |
 | Eliminated the legacy Confirm File Replace Conflicting Addon
dialog. Now when you install files that are part of an addon you previously installed, AP
will simply ask you if you want to overwrite the existing files. |
Edit Aircraft/Edit Panel/Edit Sound Windows
 | When initially opening this window the first aircraft in the list is highlighted
but full path details are not shown for the aircraft. The full path details are now shown.
|
Fixes
 | Fixed a potential problem with scenery.cfg file handling. If a certain line was
included in the [GENERAL] section you might see a hard error.
|
 | After installing an addon from a folder (not a zip file), if you went into the
Resolve Conflicts window and changed the display filter, an Index out of
bounds error occurred. This has been fixed. |
 | Fixed a minor problem reading the addon master table. |
 | In some cases, when moving addons to the File Cabinet, the program would not
properly restore certain original files (if any were saved). It will now restore these
files. |
 | Fixed an Item not found in this collection error in the Work With
Addons window. |
General
 | Switched to 32x32 icons for the Install and Remove Wizard. You will now see these
standard resolution icons when you ALT-TAB out of Addit! Pro while working with either
Wizard. |
 | Dynamic link library (dll) files are now treated as a separate category and are
installed to the \Modules folder. |
 | Added some logging functions. |
 | On all screens having a Change Folder button, pressing ALT-F is now the keyboard
shortcut for this button. |
Setup
 | Improved version checking. |
 | Updated ActiveThreed Plus components to the latest version. |
 | Updated core components to Microsofts latest VS Service Pack 5 release. |
 | Renamed the included aircraft and panel bitmap image files using 8.3 format
instead of long filenames. On a few target machines, long filename support was working
correcting so this change should avoid the problem altogether. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 4.1.3
 | Fixed a minor problem with step sequencing in the Addon Installation Wizard. If
you opened the Resolve Conflicts window and then pressed OK you might be positioned to an
incorrect step. This has been fixed. |
 | Solved a problem where the program did not shut down properly when closed using
the window's Close button. The program shuts down correctly now, whether you exit using
the File menu, the Toolbar Exit button or the window Close button. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 4.1.2
Addon Installation Wizard
 | The Addon File list has been enlarged in most steps. Therefore, more addon file
information can be displayed before you must use the scroll bars.
|
 | You can now mark a file "Do Not Install" even if you have not yet
chosen a valid destination folder (previously you had to pick a destination folder before
you could disable the files). |
 | The Addon File list in all steps gets a few new fields. For example, you can now
see a file's date, time and size in any Installation Wizard window if you so choose.
|
Addon Management
 | Added a "No To All" option to the Confirm File Replace dialog. Also
added a user selectable method for "Yes" and "Yes To All". You can now
choose to either unconditionally overwrite existing files or overwrite them only when the
source file is more recent than the target file. This was implemented to speed up the
installation of files. For example, if you install an older panel that shipped will older
gauge files, the Confirm File Replace dialog will appear and you can select "No to
All" to retain existing gauges or "Yes To All" to replace your existing
gauges only when the source files are newer. |
 | Adobe Acrobat ".PDF" files are now treated as document files.
|
 | Improved the addon conversion process. When an addon written for FS 95 or earlier
is processed, Addit! Pro offers to convert it. However, files within imbedded zips were
not considered. Now they are taken into account. |
 | In most folder dialogs Addit! Pro tries to re-position to the last folder you
worked with. For example, had you installed from "D:\Downloads\Addons\My
Aircraft\", the Select Files dialog would return you to that folder. But if that
folder was no longer valid, you were plopped to "C:\" which is not terribly
helpful. Now, you're positioned to the first valid folder that can be derived from the
designated folder. So here you might be positioned to "D:\Downloads\Addons\"
instead, if "My Aircraft" had been deleted.
|
Fixes
 | In certain cases while working with a ListView control, when you accessed a
function from the right-click menu or when you refreshed the list, the ListView control
would not properly recognize the next ARROW UP/DOWN key press. This has been fixed.
|
 | Fixed a problem where certain aircraft texture files were mistakenly defaulted to
be installed to Flight Simulator's global texture folder instead of the current aircraft's
texture folder. |
 | Fixed a problem with certain image controls where if the main window was sized to
be short but also very wide, the height of the image control could stretch into the
territory other controls. |
General
 | Enhanced the precision with which times are displayed. Before "6:51:29
AM" would be shown as "6:51 AM". Now the full value is shown. Note that
internally the full value has always been used; this change only affects times displayed
on-screen. |
 | Enhanced the precision with which sizes are displayed. Previously, file sizes
under 1 KB were listed as "1 KB". Now the actual byte size is shown. Note that
internally the proper byte value was always used in calculations; this change affects only
the value shown on-screen. |
 | Some MDI windows (Addon Wizard, Installation Wizard, Removal Wizard), when
maximized, had their innards positioned to the upper left-hand side of their parent
window. This was not ideal. Now, these windows will center themselves inside their parent.
|
 | Added an option to force new MDI windows (Edit Aircraft, Work With Addons, etc.)
to open in their maximized state. This only affects MDI Child windows, not modal windows.
In other words, it will only affect windows you can spawn more than once. For example, you
can open several Installation Wizard windows but only one Customize window - this option
would not affect the Customize window. Look for this new option under the Window menu on
Addit! Pro's main menu. |
 | Quieted down the startup sound effect by 5 decibels. It was a tad too loud.
|
 | Updated the Splash/About screenshot. Also, the mouse cursor will now change when
positioned over a data field to make it obvious a mouse click on that field will copy the
contents to the Windows Clipboard. |
 | Changed the method used to delete temporary files and folders. |
Help
 | Added help text for all new features. |
 | Fixed a couple of broken links. |
 | Improved navigation in some areas. |
Resolve Conflicts Window
 | This new window is part of the Addon Installation Wizard. It was created to
better address the problem of duplicate filenames within an addon (such as when an addon
might include 3 distinct documentation files all named "Readme.txt").
|
 | There are many benefits of this new window. You can:
 | See the conflicts at the same time you make changes to correct them.
|
 | View files without disrupting any selections.
|
 | See all files in all zips on the same screen, in the same listing.
|
 | See a zip tree view at all times with features to open, view, show properties and
show a summary for each. |
 | Reconfigure the display in a manner you're most comfortable with to best
determine which files to keep and which to toss.
|
|
 | Best of all there is an option to rename documentation and image file conflicts
automatically! So in the above example, the 3 "Readme.txt" files would be
renamed to "Readme.txt", "Readme_2.txt" and "Readme_3.txt".
Another option exists to eliminate duplicate files altogether. So in this example,
if the last 2 "Readme.txt" files were identical, Addit! Pro would automatically
mark them "Do Not Install". |
Setup
 | The method Setup uses to determine a valid Flight Simulator installation has been
improved. |
Work With Addons Window
 | You can now rename an addon by slowly doubling click on its name in the Addon
list (the same way you might rename a file in Windows Explorer). This allows you to
quickly edit the name without bringing up a renaming dialog (you can still bring up the
renaming dialog by right-clicking on an Addon and choosing Rename).
|
 | Resolved the rare situation where the image thumbnail was not being cleared
properly when the addon item list was navigated in a certain manner.
|
Improvements and Changes in Version 4.0.5
Fixes
 | In some cases the Import Addons feature failed to import some aircraft texture
files. The Import feature now includes all aircraft texture files.
|
 | Some aircraft would not appear in the Edit Aircraft window even though Addit! Pro
successfully installed them and they worked fine inside Flight Simulator. This has been
fixed. |
Improvements and Changes in Version 4.0.4
Addon Management
 | When Addit! Pro removes a panel that other panels point to, you are warned about
those additional references. However, if you remove several panels at the same time and
each of them has references, this dialog requires too much babysitting. The old
"Yes/No" dialog has been replaced with a much better "Yes/Yes to All, No/No
to All" solution. This allows a single answer to apply to all panels.
|
 | The check to see if a sound configuration file (sound.cfg) file was an original
sound definition (meaning it does not point to another sound.cfg file) was based on the
presence of a CRASH_SOUND event. Not all authors remembered to include this event. This
meant Addit! Pro would report a problem even when one really didn't exist. The new routine
checks several events to improve accuracy. |
 | The check to see if a panel configuration file (panel.cfg) was an original panel
definition (meaning it does not point to another panel.cfg file) was based on the presence
of a [WINDOW00] section. If this section doesn't exist but a [WINDOW01] or subsequent
section does, the panel is still an original definition. Addit! Pro now recognizes this
fact. |
 | Improved reading of gauge statements inside panel configuration files.
|
Fixes
 | Addressed a potential problem that might occur when an ".air" filename
was very short. |
 | Addressed a potential problem that might occur when reading from a configuration
file having a very large number of sections. |
 | Even when the first item in the Edit Aircraft/Edit Panel windows had no
associated picture, the picture control was still enabled. This occurred only when the
window was first loaded. This has been fixed. |
 | Fixed a quirk where the program would think a file was present even when it was
not. This only happened when an existing file had a similar name that included an
underscore character "_" near the end. The net effect was more Confirm File
Replace dialogs would appear than was necessary. |
General
 | You can now center most windows by pressing F11 (F12 still brings up the form
sizing menu). |
 | Several windows wouldn't keep their maximized status if you switched to a
non-sizable window. For example, if you opened the Edit Aircraft window, maximized it,
then opened the Addon Wizard, the Edit Aircraft window would return to its default size.
Now, these windows will stay maximized. |
 | New distribution package includes updated ActiveThreed Plus controls, updated
DAO/Jet engine files, updated VB runtime files and updated setup code.
|
Improvements and Changes in Version 4.0.3
General
 | When installing an addon from a folder (not from a zip file) that had a panel.cfg
or sound.cfg file, an invalid procedure call error occurred in some cases. This has been
corrected. |
 | Solved a sorting issue with the Addon File box in the Select Addon Files window
and Browse/Select Folder window. The list is now sorted properly for columns containing
numeric information. |
 | Fixed a problem in the panel import process that could potentially cause a 'File
not Found' error. |
 | In the Browse/Select Folder window, the splitter bar would sometimes slowly creep
toward the right. This creeping no longer occurs. |
 | Panel.cfg and Sound.cfg files that specify filenames with trailing spaces are now
handled properly (the trailing spaces are removed).
|
Improvements and Changes in Version 4.0.2
The following list describes most of the changes and additions since Addit! Pro
For Flight Simulator 98.
Addon Installation Wizard
 | The Addon Installation Wizard has been completely rewritten. This was done to
provide user interface and addon file logic improvements and to increase performance.
|
 | After selecting an addon, the Wizard will indicate the status of each step using
color indicators. A green circle means Addit! Pro has all of the details necessary to
properly install the files in that step. A yellow circle means Addit! Pro has all of the
details necessary to install the files in that step, but you should double check
everything before proceeding. A red circle means Addit! Pro does not have sufficient
information to install the files in that step. |
 | The Wizard is now more functional and installation is even faster. There are
fewer steps to work through. For instance, the Install Situation step and Install
Adventure step are gone. Textures are now handled in their own step. Convenient buttons
offer quick access to any step. |
 | Added an Installation Summary step. This step lists all of the file being
processed and the actions Addit! Pro will take to install them.
|
 | Improved file installation logic. Addit! Pro now pays much more attention to
context when deciding how to install files. For example, if you install scenery with bmp
texture files, the bmp files are treated as scenery textures, as they should be.
|
 | For steps having an Addon file box, you can customize the columns, sort by any
column, see each file's status and type. The new Action column shows what will happen
during the install (e.g. Install, Overwrite, Skip).
|
 | You can choose not to install a file in any step. This means you no longer have
to deselect the files in the Select Files step, which would cause everything to be
rebuilt. |
 | You can specify the installation folder for any file. For example, if an addon
includes a TXT file and you want to place that file in Flight Simulator's root folder, you
can now do so. |
 | For steps with a Document file box, this box will list all addon documentation,
even files from imbedded zip files. |
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Aircraft Window
 | Aircraft textures are now handled in the new Configure Texture Window.
|
 | The installation type step has been removed.
|
 | Updated the Addon file box to provide greater functionality.
|
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Panel Window
 | If the option to install panel files to "the panel folder of the aircraft
currently being installed' is chosen, the proper panel folder is used based on the entry
in the Aircraft.cfg file. |
 | Updated the Addon file box to provide greater functionality.
|
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Scenery Window
 | Scenery registry options are updated when this window is closed. Before, it was
done in the Customize window, which was confusing. |
 | Made obsolete the details view list. |
 | Added a warning or when automatic scenery library updating is not used.
|
 | Combined all scenery library options into a single step.
|
 | Updated the Addon file box to provide greater functionality.
|
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Sound Window
 | Improved handling of WAV files. |
 | If the option to install sound files to "the sound folder of the aircraft
currently being installed' is chosen, the proper sound folder is used based on the entry
in the Aircraft.cfg file. |
 | Added an option to install the sound files to "the default folders
determined by Addit! Pro". This allows the target folders for WAV files to be set
individually based on context. |
 | Updated the Addon file box to provide greater functionality.
|
Addon Installation Wizard - Configure Textures Window
 | This new step handles aircraft textures, scenery textures, panel components and
independent BMP files (e.g. screenshots). |
 | Installation context is used to properly set the target folders for all bitmap
files. |
 | Updated the Addon file box to provide greater functionality.
|
Addon Installation Wizard - Select Addon Files Window
 | The recent item list now stores and displays the date each item was entered.
|
 | Removed the Full Zip View button. Full zip view is always enabled.
|
 | Improved filename conflict handling. Files sharing the same name are better
identified to make it easier to deselect unwanted files.
|
 | Improved performance. The contents of imbedded zip files are no longer extracted
in this step. They are extracted as needed by subsequent steps.
|
 | Added an option to test a zip file's integrity.
|
 | Updated Smart Select. |
 | Interface controls are disabled until a folder reset is complete.
|
Addon Management
 | Aircraft configuration files having customized subfolder entries (e.g.
"Panel.001") are now installed according to the exact subfolder names. For
example, if the Aircraft.cfg specifies a panel subfolder of "Panel.001", the
panel files will always default to "
\Panel.001".
|
 | You can now store 256 times as much text for an addon's description.
|
 | An addon name can now be as long as 255 characters, instead of 80.
|
 | Improved installation of aircraft, panels, sounds and textures.
|
 | Added greater flexibility in choosing target folders for addon files. Using the
Change Target Folder function, you can install any file to any folder.
|
 | Added new validation checks for aircraft configuration files.
|
 | Added support for new Flight Simulator 2000 files and types.
|
 | Added support for collection gauges. |
 | Added support for Aircraft Animator Moving Parts and Aircraft Animator Model
files. |
 | Added support for multi-line sound item entries.
|
 | Since BMPs can now be one of several types (a regular image, an aircraft texture,
a scenery texture, a flight thumbnail or a panel component), Addit! Pro now uses context
to properly process these files. |
 | Added extended checking when removing panels. If another panel configuration file
aliases (points to) the panel being removed, a dialog appears warning the user of the
dependency. |
Addon Removal Wizard
 | The Addon Removal Wizard has been completely rewritten. This was done to provide
user interface improvements and to increase performance.
Some steps have been eliminated or combined in existing steps to make addons easier to
remove. |
 | Color indicators are used to denote the status of each step. A green circle means
Addit! Pro has all of the information it needs to process the items in that step. A yellow
circle means Addit! Pro has all of the information it needs to process the items in that
step but you should verify things before proceeding. A red circle means Addit! Pro does
not have all of the information it needs to process the items in that step.
|
 | Added a removal summary step. This window lists all addons being removed and the
action Addit! Pro will take during removal. |
 | You can now directly access any step by pressing its step button.
|
 | The program now looks at the configuration files to remove aircraft folders
properly. For example, if '\panel.custom' was in configuration file, it uses that folder.
|
Addon Removal Wizard - Select Addons Window
 | More addon information is provided. The addon box can show the addon name, the
date installed, reference number and status (as an icon).
More addon file information is provided. The Addon file box can show the file name, addon
type, current folder, reference number and type (as an icon).
|
 | Columns are fully customizable. |
 | You can sort on any column by clicking on a column header.
|
 | You can configure the display to show only certain addons. Subsetting by addon
type and installation location is available. For example, you can easily restrict the
display to show only scenery addons located in Addit! Pro's File Cabinet.
|
 | Combined the Detail view with the Work With display.
|
Addon Removal Wizard - Removal Summary Window
 | This new window shows details regarding the addons being removed. |
Addon Wizard
 | Reworked the screen to resemble the new Addon Installation Wizard.
|
 | Updated images, selections and their descriptions.
|
Customize Window
 | Removed the Scenery tab. Scenery options are now handled in the Addon
Installation Wizard's Configure Scenery step. |
 | Added a slider to control the splash screen's delay. You can set the delay from 1
to 5 seconds. |
 | Added an option in the General tab to tweak performance when updating zip files.
You can choose to favor performance over disk space savings or vice versa.
|
 | Added an option in the General tab to show item box highlighting even when the
item box doesn't have the focus. |
Edit/Select Aircraft Window
 | Updated the aircraft list box to allow sorting by column.
|
 | Improved configuration file problem reporting.
|
 | Added buttons to access an aircraft's reference and notes files. |
Edit/Select Panels Window
 | Dropped the useless first window title field.
|
 | Updated the panel list box to allow sorting by column. |
Edit/Select Sounds Window
 | Updated the sound list box to allow sorting by column.
|
Fixes
 | Fixed a quirk where the total number of items in a zip file was being misreported
if one or more items were simply path entries (path entries without filenames were being
counted as true files). |
 | Fixed a bug where a "Path/file access" error was generated when Addit!
Pro attempted to delete a read-only temporary file.
|
 | Fixed several issues with the Addon Import function. This resolves the rare but
nasty "File not found" and "Invalid procedure call" errors.
|
 | Fixed a runtime error that occurred in some MDI windows during resizing.
|
General
 | Improved the program's startup performance slightly.
|
 | Updated zip processing to use much improved zip routines.

|
 | Improved database efficiency. |
 | Added an adjustable splash screen delay.
|
 | Added relative path handling for all Addit! Pro and Flight Simulator paths.
Relative paths are now used in the database instead of fixed paths. This means Addit! Pro
and/or Flight Simulator can be moved to different drives/folders without trouble.
|
 | Installing (or moving) addons to the File Cabinet is faster than before.
|
 | Recreating addons in zip files is faster than before.

removed, it's faster still (almost instantaneous)! |

database in the future. |
 | Added an option to show what is highlighted in an item box even when the item box
does not have the focus. |

and glossary. Divided the help file into a User's Guide and Reference section.

 | The recent item list now stores and displays the date each item was entered.
|
 | Added special customization for "select recreate folder" and "make
zip files" options. |
Work With Addons Window
 | Added the ability to operate on several selected addons. This screen now includes
all removal options from the Addon Removal Wizard (the ability to remove several addons,
etc.). |
 | More addon information is provided. The addon box can show the addon name, the
date installed, reference number and status (as an icon).
|
 | More addon file information is provided. The Addon file box can show the file
name, addon type, current folder, reference number and type (as an icon).
|
 | Columns are fully customizable. |
 | You can sort by any column by clicking on its header.
|
 | You can configure the display to show only certain addons. Subsetting by addon
type and installation location is available. For example, you can easily restrict the
display to show only scenery addons located in Addit! Pro's File Cabinet.
|
