This topic demonstrates how to add an aircraft addon to Flight Simulator 2004 using Addit! Pro For Flight Simulator 2004 by working step-by-step through the installation of an actual, downloadable aircraft addon.
Our aircraft addon is called Gloster Meteor T Mk.7 by Saverio Maurri and Rick Piper. Download the 11.2 MB zip file to a folder called Addons on your C: drive, if you wish to match-up perfectly with this walkthrough:
Download from:
Flightsim.com (http://www.flightsim.com/
- requires login - search for Gloster Meteor) or
ByteForge.com (http://www.byteforge.com/products/ap_fs2004/support/walkthroughs/install_aircraft_addon/meteort7.zip)
Begin by opening Addit! Pro. Pull down the File menu as shown below then select Install an Addon:

After the Addon Installation Wizard window appears, press Select Addon Files:

When the Select Addon Files window appears, locate meteort7.zip (the file you downloaded above). Select only this zip file. Make sure all of the files inside the zip file are selected in the Zip File list, as shown below. Press OK:

Back on the Addon Installation Wizard window, all colored status indicators are either green or yellow so you could press Finish at this point and install the addon using the default configuration. Instead, we will tweak the configuration to demonstrate how it is done. Press Configure Aircraft:

On the Configure Aircraft window, click the small Quick Picks button as shown below to bring up a list of some potential installation folders. The default FSDS2 Gloster Meteor T7 seems most fitting so we will keep it. You do not have to use a Quick Picks folder. To make a custom folder for the aircraft, click Change Folder instead. Press Next:

On the Configure Aircraft window (positioned to the Set Picture step), press Set Picture then select a picture to represent the aircraft variant. If a picture is pre-selected for you, you can keep it or pick a different image. This Gloster Meteor package includes several variants of the T7. You should assign a picture to each variant as shown below.
Keep in mind you can always assign (or reassign) a picture later on using the Edit Aircraft window. Press OK:

Back on the Addon Installation Wizard window, Press Configure Panel:

On the Configure Panel window, keep the default value "The folders determined by Addit! Pro" where it says "Install the panel files for 'Panel 1' to". Press Next:

On the Configure Panel window (positioned to the Set Picture step), press Set Picture and select a picture to represent the panel. Press OK:

Back on the Addon Installation Wizard window, Press Installation Options:

On the Set Installation Options window, enter an addon name. The Quick Picks button to the right provides a handy list of possible names. Optionally, identify the authors and provide a description as shown below. Press OK:

Back on the Addon Installation Wizard window, press Installation Summary and review the choices:

Tip: maximize this window to see as much information as possible. Everything looks to be in order. Press OK:

On the Addon Installation Wizard window, press Finish to complete the installation:

According to the Installation Results report, all files were correctly installed:

Use Addit! Pro's Edit Aircraft window to verify the new aircraft variant. Press the Edit Aircraft button on Addit! Pro's button bar. When the Edit Aircraft window appears, position to the FSDS2 Gloster Meteor T7. Here we see a few minor configuration issues but nothing that will seriously impact performance or functionality:

Finally, start Flight Simulator 2004 and select the new Gloster Meteor T7 aircraft and enjoy!
