This topic demonstrates how to add a texture skin/repaint addon to Flight Simulator 2004's stock Boeing 737-400 aircraft by working step-by-step through the installation of an actual repaint addon, all using Addit! Pro For Flight Simulator 2004.
Our aircraft repaint addon is called Default B737-400 British Airways 'Landor' by Tony Potter. Download the 1.1 MB zip file to a folder called Addons on your C: drive, if you wish to match-up perfectly with this walkthrough:
Download from:
AVSIM.com (http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=33983)
or
ByteForge.com (http://www.byteforge.com/products/ap_fs2004/support/walkthroughs/install_aircraft_repaint_addon/b737_ba1.zip)
Begin by opening Addit! Pro. Pull down the File menu as shown below then select Install an Addon:

After the Addon Installation Wizard window appears, press Select Addon Files:

When the Select Addon Files window appears, locate b737_ba1.zip (the file you downloaded above). Select only this zip file. Make sure all of the files inside the zip file are selected in the Zip File list, as shown below. Press OK:

Back on the Addon Installation Wizard window, press Configure Textures:

On the window titled Configure Scenery/Misc. Textures, pick the option "An existing for new texture folder" under "Install the texture files to". Also, make sure the box "Create aircraft variant for use with these textures" is checked. Press Next:

On the titled Configure Scenery/Misc. Textures window (positioned to the Select Aircraft step), click the small Quick Picks button as shown below to bring up a list of aircraft compatible with the repaint addon. Select the stock Boeing 737-400. You can also click on Change Folder then locate the B737-400 folder manually. Press Next:

On the Configure Scenery/Misc. Textures window (positioned to the Specify Aircraft Variant Details step), press Customize. A window appears where you can enter a Title and Variation as well as pick the panel, sound package and texture folder name for the new variant.
Fill out this form as shown below. Use Boeing 737-400 BA as the Title and enter British Airways "Landor" under Variation. Leave the panel and sound at the defaults but be sure to use a unique texture folder name, one that is not currently used by another variant. Here we opted for Texture.BA. Press OK to close this window then press OK one more time to accept the texture changes. Then press Next on last time.

On the Configure Scenery/Misc. Textures window (positioned to the Set Picture step), press Set Picture and select a picture to represent this aircraft variant. Note a picture has been pre-selected for you. You can keep this picture or pick a different image. Keep in mind you can always assign (or reassign) a picture later on using the Edit Aircraft window. Press OK:

Back on the Addon Installation Wizard window, Press Installation Options:

On the Set Installation Options window, enter an addon name. The Quick Picks button provides a handy list of possible names. Optionally, identify the authors and provide a description as shown below. Press OK:

Back on the Addon Installation Wizard window, press Installation Summary and review the choices:

Tip: maximize this window to see as much information as possible. Everything looks fine, with no textures set to be overwritten. Press OK:

On the Addon Installation Wizard window, press Finish to complete the installation:

According to the Installation Results report, all files were correctly installed. A new variant was created for our skin/repaint texture group:

Use Addit! Pro's Edit Aircraft window to verify the new aircraft variant. Press the Edit Aircraft button on Addit! Pro's button bar. When the Edit Aircraft window appears, position to the Boeing 737-400 BA variant. Here we see no errors and everything appears to be in order:

Finally, start Flight Simulator 2004 and select the new British Airways "Landor" variant and enjoy!
